Last Saturday, June 13th, Plaza de la Candelaria hosted the 3rd Quick Painting Competition organized by the ARTIS Cultural Association of Artists. This event once again transformed this emblematic space in the town into a meeting point for creativity, talent, and community. The competition brought together participants of different ages and backgrounds, from children to adults, who expressed themselves on their canvases using various themes and techniques in a day marked by a positive atmosphere and artistic exchange. The Councilor for Culture of the Ingenio Town Council, Sebastián Suárez, attended the event as a member of the jury and highlighted the quality of the submitted works. The councilman expressed his satisfaction at sharing a day dedicated to art with the ARTIS collective and praised the level of the participants, emphasizing the value of initiatives that promote culture and bring artistic expression closer to the public. For her part, Raquel García García, secretary of the ARTIS Cultural Association of Artists, gave a very positive assessment of this third edition of the competition, highlighting the broad participation of adults, young people, and children. The association representative took the opportunity to invite the public to join the collective and participate in the various events it organizes throughout the year. Among the upcoming activities, she highlighted a week of summer workshops in El Burrero with the artist Leiko, as well as new training sessions after the summer period dedicated to different artistic techniques, including spray painting and urban art. The competition also included the participation of artists from other municipalities. This is the case of visual artist Rober Luis Zamora Bell, a resident of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, who highly valued the initiative promoted by ARTIS and highlighted the importance of promoting and supporting cultural activities that foster art and offer meeting spaces for creators.
