It was pretty easy compared to the bots since nothing is trying to shoot you from 100m+ away. The most annoying part are the shriekers, but the mech handles them no problem. Aside from that, I'm going to take another break until something majorly new and exciting pops up. Game stats 14 Bug Breaches. 15/22 Gas minefields. Shield took 17 hits from: (Excluding inside mech) 9x Shrieker 2x Hive Guard 2x Alpha Warrior 1x Gloom Warrior 1x Gloom Scavenger 1x Stalker Tongue 1x SEAF Soldier (we're going to have words post mission!) Found a better build? If it does better under the same modifiers and mission, show us and everyone can benefit. Does it work in teamplay? Yes, because you can carry them. No matter what. What's my best build criteria for each faction? Solo - Stress test No stims - Covers way too many basic mistakes and I like the more realistic aspect of it No deaths - Otherwise it’s not solo Full map clear (No POIs) - It’s not just about kills Kill as many enemies as possible - The more kills, the more stress it can handle. Highest difficulty - Stress test Any sub-faction - It shouldn’t matter Any terrain, any mission, any mission modifier (even in a forest) - It shouldn’t matter It’s about testing everything at once to see how much pressure it can take, before it breaks. Bugs have one exception, atmospheric spores for predators, because it's a bit too difficult right now. Why halt primary? Stun groups of enemies for 5s with each shot. Then unload your GL into them. Support weapons and stratagems kill bugs faster and more too. So you don't need to rely on your primary for kills. Halt is the single most important weapon on the predator front and any bug front for that matter. It kills their biggest advantage. Speed. They can't melee you if they can't reach you. Why no SEAF artillery? You can't rely on it. Why no armed supply pod booster? Being able to sprint 38s instead of 30s and regenerating all stamina within 7s instead of 10s is MASSIVE. Stamina beats aggro for bugs every day. Why no jump pack? There are 9 units that can outrun your jump pack on flat land, which is most of the map. Bugs come from all directions, they're hard to spot in fog and maps with no radar. Shield is better for survival and avoiding BS ragdoll and acid hit boxes due to poor coding. Why no warp pack? Fun. Unique, but nowhere near the most efficient choice. 15m move with a 5s recharge, otherwise you hurt yourself or blow up. It suffers from the same issue as every other backpack. It requires way more effort than the shield back to produce worse or similar results for survivability and it doesn't protect you from janky coding or enemies you never saw coming. It relies too much on reaction time and knowing exactly where all your enemies are all the time to dodge them. Why no cookout or arc blitzer? Neither stun the predators long enough to fight them without being overwhelmed and flanked. Plus, they give your grenade launcher more time to kill everything. Why no orbital napalm barrage? Gas minefields are enough and you can call more of them down. Plus, you can lure a bunch of bugs into them.
