Eros Ramazzotti si opera di nuovo alle corde vocali: la tecnica vocale avrebbe potuto prevenirlo?
Eros Ramazzotti undergoes another vocal cord operation. Could he have avoided another? There's been a lot of talk in recent days about Eros Ramazzotti's new operation for vocal cord hypertrophy, a problem that recurred seven years later... and which, they say, is increasingly common among "voice professionals." Beyond the individual case, which deserves respect and on which no one can express a diagnosis or judgment, this story offers us the opportunity to reflect on a fundamental question. Why do some vocal cords continue to get affected? Vocal cord hypertrophy doesn't appear out of nowhere. In most cases, it represents the adaptive response of tissue subjected, day after day, to excessive mechanical stress. It's the body trying to defend itself. And this is where vocal technique comes in. Too often, technique is considered a tool for singing higher, having more volume, or wowing an audience. In reality, its most important function is another: preserving the health of the voice. A truly conscious technique allows you to reduce unnecessary strain, better distribute respiratory and muscular work, reduce traumatic impacts between the vocal cords, and make phonation more efficient. In many cases, this means preventing the onset of alterations such as thickening, nodules, edema, and other overload-related conditions. And when the problem is still in its early stages, targeted technical work, combined with the treatment plan recommended by a speech therapist or speech therapist, can often significantly contribute to the recovery of vocal function, preventing the situation from worsening. In this video, I explain what vocal cord hypertrophy really is, why it develops, and, above all, what we can concretely do to reduce the risk of our voice reaching this point. Because the voice is not an instrument to be exploited. It is an instrument to be understood. And the more we learn to use it according to its nature, the less we will need to ask for help.
