1982 Lincoln Continental vs Cadillac Seville Manufacturer Laserdisc Promotional Video
One of Ford’s more interesting cars in the company’s 1982 lineup was the redesigned Lincoln Continental. Ousting Versailles as a stronger challenger to Cadillac’s Seville, the new 1982 Lincoln Continental sedan wore its own “bustleback” on the humble Ford Fairmont “Fox” platform. Most every luxury amenity was included in the $21,302 sticker, but even posher Signature Series and Givenchy models were offered. Whereas some were not particularly fond of the Caddy Seville look-alike styling, most were pleased that its handling was more than several cuts above Bargemobile traditional. In fact, the new Conti’ offered handling that was a whole lot better than its mock-Seville looks.
