Pinacoteca di Brera
A new video from the series curated by Artesplorando, entirely dedicated to museums and their exploration. In this in-depth look, we'll discover 10 works from the Pinacoteca di Brera in Milan 😄 ▼▼CONTINUE BELOW▼▼ It is one of the largest Italian art galleries. It is located in the evocative palace of the same name, dating back to the 17th-18th centuries, which was initially the seat of a Jesuit college. After the suppression of the order in 1772, it was used by various scholarly institutions, including the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1796, Milan was occupied by Napoleon, who was crowned King of Italy in the cathedral in 1805. Brera became the collection center for all the paintings from northern Italy that had been relocated following the suppression of religious orders. It opened to the public in 1809. Even today, the collection is dominated by works from the Italian Renaissance. The video is also subtitled in Italian, English, French, and Spanish. You can also contribute subtitles in foreign languages!
