FA Little Baby Cheeses 35/9a - Tom O'Halloran

The story of the first ascent of Little Baby Cheese 35/9a in Nowra Aust. The route is an extension to the mega classic Cheesegobbler 28/7c+, which is located in the middle of the big Cheesedale Cave. Rob LeBreton bolted the extension in about 2010, however it wasn't tried much and was left behind. In 2020 I was keen for something new and exciting to sink my teeth into and thought I'd check this thing out. Oh my it was insanely good (and dirty). I spent a day hanging in the harness cleaning up all the dust cobwebs and mank. Then it was time to put the pieces together and unlock the movement. I came close to climbing it that season however the season began shutting down and Oceania's Olympic Qualifying event was called on and the training focus needed to shift. In late May early June 2021 I had a small break in training and the space to get back on the proj. On the second day back on it that season I did it. One of my all time favourite FA's. Thanks so much to Rob for his vision. What a treat! First ascent of Cheesecake 35/9a    • Cheesecake 35/9a FA - Tom O'Halloran
