Customary Land Concerns in Samoa
A land law introduced in 2008 is causing problems. At the heart of concerns, that Samoan customary land could lead to alienation. The Samoa constitution does not allow customary land to be sold but opponents say the effect of the law is to free up customary land for exploitation, even by foreigners.
