Radio Station Tour

I give you a tour of the station of Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin, Tennessee, 88.5 WVCP. WVCP operates with 1kW ERP of power with a Dielectric 3-bay antenna north of Gallatin. It uses HD Radio with the HD-1 simulcasting the analog FM and HD-2 currently broadcasting "Fresh County", a social media driven country music format that uses social media metrics to program the format. In this video, I take you to different parts of the radio station and show you how some of this stuff works. While performing regular tests of the equipment, I noticed that the scanner that monitors the local NOAA/NWS office for EAS alerts wasn't working anymore. I tested the antenna connection and the scanner itself and found that the scanner was malfunctioning. I found another scanner that did work and connected that to the EAS device.
