Learning Through Play - Educational Experts - Series 1
Edx Education have been working with many Educational Experts, Teachers and Play Advocates to increase the awareness campaign for “Learning Through Play”. Children learn so much through play and we would love to show you how. Through our 'Global Educational Experts' who are passionate about working with children in the early years by making play purposeful, fun, interactive and engaging. Our aim is to spark children’s interests, encourage them to explore, experience and learn, through play also to make is aware how important this is to caregivers, parents and educational experts. These experts have a wealth of experience behind them with research based evidence of the benefits of Learning through play. We look at six specific learning and development areas for children when discussing learning through play; Fine Motor Skills: Focus on small movement through active play strengthening small muscle group and building hand–eye coordination. Gross Motor Skills: Focus on large movement through active play helps develop coordination. Speech & Language Development: Describe, discuss and explore with our range of materials children will be developing vital oral language skills and ability to express themselves. Cognitive Development: Purposeful play improves cognitive development stimulating the child’s problem solving and thinking ability. Social & Emotional Development: Through play children will learn to manage their emotions, work with others and resolve conflict Curiosity: Develop children’s problem solving ability via their natural curiosity about the world around them.
