The First Royal Flush

The Royal Flush is an obsession I created and chased for years and years in my late teens and early twenties. I slowly put the puzzle of the Royal Gorge together over 4 descents, running a few more drops each time. It was not a show up blow up thing for me and I believe that this endeavor set the tone for every other Royal Flush to date. It's easy to go there now, with a tons of GoPro videos of the best in the world stomping every drop and say you're gonna royal flush. It's always easy to call this goal out until you're scouting Scott's Drop feeling oh-so-tiny and the power of the place and rapid settles in...Back in 2010, I had very few things to inspire this dream other than the passion and the experiences a few friends and I had already been through in Royal. This descent was greatly inspired and pushed by Chris Korbulic, Charlie Center, Pat Keller, Scott Lindgren, Ben Stooksberry, Rush Sturges, Drew Duval (who was doing the flush with me until he injured himself at Scott's), and the great group of kiwi's and Willy P whom supported this descent with stellar safety and energy. (None of the videos I've posted so far are new edits) I made this video in in 2010 after completing the first ever Royal Flush of the North Fork of the American. I know the times have changed and this music is a bit much for a lot of listeners...But the intro of the song is actually pretty damn fitting for what's going on in the world right now. Weird how that lined up.
