Gospel of the Day Tuesday, July 14, 2026 Audio Gospel of the day in Italian with commentary by    / @frastefano   Liturgy of the Word today, from the Gospel according to Matthew Glory to you, O Lord Mt 11:20-24 At that time, Jesus began to rebuke the cities in which most of his miracles had been performed, because they had not repented: "Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you. And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You will go down to the grave." For if the mighty works that were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would still be standing today. But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom on the Day of Judgment than for you. The Word of the Lord Praise to you, O Christ Sometimes we think of conversion as something enormous, almost impossible. We imagine people who suddenly change their lives, saints who do extraordinary things, radical choices that we don't feel capable of making. And so we risk saying, "I'll never do it." But in the Gospel, Jesus rebukes some cities because they had seen the light and refused to change direction. Conversion, then, isn't becoming perfect in a day. It's stopping standing still. It's realizing that God is speaking to us and deciding to take at least one step toward Him. Converting means this: not closing your heart. Not becoming accustomed to the Gospel. Not listening to Jesus' words as if they were something we've heard a thousand times before. Because the greatest risk is not being a sinner. The greatest risk is becoming indifferent. So where do we start today? It begins with simple things. With a sincere prayer. With a forgiveness we've put off for too long. With five minutes of silence with God. With a confession we're afraid to make. With a good choice made even if it costs us. Conversion isn't a mountain to be climbed together. It's a path we travel step by step. And the beautiful thing is this: Jesus doesn't ask you to have arrived. He only asks you not to close yourself off. Because when a person truly lets Christ into their life, their heart begins to live again.
