Team Associated RC10 Brian Kinwald Edition: Detailing the Body & Chassis
This time we’re going to pick up from where we left off on this absolutely iconic buggy, the Team Associated RC10 Brian Kinwald Worlds Car re-release. We’re out to replicate those special touches that Brian made and we’ll add many more, always leaving something to do in the future! Once again, we’ll walk through what these changes are and how you can make them on your own Kinwald buggy. Then we’ll take a beautifully painted body (same source as our Team Car body in previous episode, see link below) with the classic box art paint drip graphics and detail it to replicate the last available pictures of Kinwald’s IFMAR winning buggy. Upgrade parts: Flat Head (SAE) 100 Degree Phillips Aluminum Pan Screws (P/N: KNK308082D) These were installed in the previous build episode. You need these! They are blue anodized aluminum and have white nylon locking inserts and take a 5.5mm hex driver. You can also go with: Custom Works 4-40 Aluminum Locknut (P/N: CSW5205) https://www.amainhobbies.com/custom-w... These have black nylon locking inserts and I believe are a standard inch size hex? But looking at pictures of Brian’s car, it appears to me that the inserts should be white. Hey, that’ pretty much the only thing I can think of that our cars have in common. Fan RC Body Post Mount Set, for Gen 1 series, Black https://www.gofasthobbies.com/product... Brian had custom machined body mounts. These are not those, but they are the right color (select black). You could also die the white posts black. Body: New Painted Team Associated RC10 Buggy Turbo Mirage Kinwald Worlds Body + Wing https://ebay.com Search for title or RC10 Painted Body. Ebay seller is yomommascouch. Bodies are all paint, no stickers. Paint quality ranges from good to excellent. On this Kinwald body, the paint drips are a little longer than Brian’s and it makes applying some decals difficult since there is less white paint area to fit in. I also purchased the Team Car body from this seller and the air brush work on that is excellent. This seller has the Classic, Graphite and Jay Halsey bodies posted at the time of this episode. It’s a splurge, but if you want a nice-looking body and aren’t going to do it yourself, it’s an option.
