Our production was already fairly automated, so logistics needed to follow. We had been considering it for a long time. One key factor was space. Compared to a conventional warehouse, our automated facility would require four to five times less footprint—space we simply don’t have. Another reason was sustainability. In an automated warehouse, we don’t need heating or lighting, which has a clear environmental benefit. There’s also the economic factor: reducing labor requirements in the warehouse, which we successfully achieved.
