Part 2 of building Mistress' hard dodger and YES, as with everything with boats, getting things to this stage took more hard work than anticipated and a lot of sweat, particularly in the very HOT summer had on the Sunny Coast last-this year! At this stage however, I was SO HAPPY with how it came together AND how the top/roof plate was almost spot on for size/fit, only requiring a few small trims! Mistress is designed by one of the highly respected Dutch naval architects E.G. Van de Stadt, a Caribbean design, length 40ft/12m, beam 13ft/3.9m, draft 5ft/1.5m. Her hull and decks are built in mild steel and I have built her on my own and am also fitting her out on my own. I have not built any type of boat before Mistress. There were many reasons why, but the work stopped,... However, the work has re-started, thankfully, and I am on an exciting journey to finish Mistress and then go on my sailing adventures,...
