Welcome to Lyon, France, often called the food capital of France! In this video, we dive into the culinary heart of the city at Les Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse, a famous indoor market named after the legendary chef himself. We sampled everything from fresh seafood and cured meats to French cheeses and savory Lyonnaise specialties like charcuterie and pâté. Outside the market, we made separate stops to try some of Lyon’s signature sweet treats, including the vibrant praline brioche and the iconic Coussin de Lyon, a green marzipan-and-chocolate confection that’s is super unique! We also explored Lyon’s stunning sights, including the hilltop Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière and its panoramic views over the city, and ended the night with a traditional dish of pike quenelle (quenelle de brochet), a light, soufflé-like specialty that’s a must-try when you're here.
