In the 1990s, Škoda became part of the Volkswagen Group and has become a symbol of robust Czech engineering. Over the years, the brand gradually shifted its reputation — from a regional budget manufacturer to a competitive, although mainly European player, valued for practical design and clever packaging, selling almost a million cars per year. In 2020: Škoda launched its first dedicated EV, the Enyaq iV. For the 2026-model year, the Enyaq RS has matured into the brand’s electric flagship, updated with faster charging, improved efficiency, and a sharper design. The power comes from two motors driving all four wheels, delivering up to 250 kW. Since 2024, the Enyaq has the new AP550 electric motor and Škoda claims a range between 551 and 563 km WLTP combined, with as much as 678 km in city driving. Visually, the RS version stands out. The Coupé roofline gives the Enyaq a sleeker silhouette, and the RS adds sportier front and rear bumpers. It sits 15 mm lower at the front and 10 mm lower at the rear and carries subtle green RS badging. Step inside, and you will be surprised how far Škoda has come over the last 20 years. The cabin is sporty yet family-friendly. Ambient lighting runs throughout the cabin, and a standard panoramic glass roof brings in plenty of light. Škoda’s famous “Simply Clever” touches are still here in plethora: an umbrella hidden in the door, luggage nets and ice scraper in the boot, and clever storage compartments. Boot space is excellent and very flexible. The 2026 Enyaq Coupé RS shows how far the Skoda has come — from utilitarian eastern European vehicles to stylish, high-quality cars. It is currently the most successful brand within the VW Group, and it is clear why. Value for money and quality goes hand in hand with modern technology and very clever storage solutions and Skoda has emerged as the clever choice in the non-premium segment.
