Countering the Straight Ankle Lock Tye Ruotolo’s Kneebar

In this video, we’re going to take a look at a great kneebar counter to the straight achilles lock. Tye Ruotolo landed this attack in the gi World Championship as a response to the belly-down ankle lock, a position that can be challenging to address since it takes place with your partner facing away from you. The key here is understanding that when someone is attacking your legs, they often leave their own legs vulnerable to counter-offense. In the case of a belly-down achilles lock, we see that we can capture the knee, extend it and use our free leg to apply finishing pressure. ⭐ ➡️ MY BIO (by John Danaher): https://bit.ly/3gUMU5R === Like this video?
