Instead, travelers must apply for an e-visa through the official website of the Nigerian Immigration Service. I tried this process for the first time, but it didn’t go as smoothly as expected. Despite the system being designed to make the process easier, I encountered several issues. For example, I didn't receive the emails for additional documentation, and I couldn't check the status of my application due to a technical error on the website. While the e-visa system is supposed to simplify things, my experience was unfortunately not smooth or effortless. I even paid an extra €100 to someone at immigration to internally speed up the process, but even that didn’t go as planned. After all that effort, I still couldn’t board my flight in time! On top of that, I was stuck in Thailand with my Thai visa expiring the same day I was supposed to fly out! So, I had to stressfully find a new destination within 24 hours.
