Andy Wood Guitar series "The Woodshed". Everything I learned from Joe Diffie records. RIP Pickup Man

Hello Music Lovers, this episode is drastically different form last weeks, sadly we lost an amazing country music artist, the icon and pickup man himself, Joe Diffie. For those that aren't aware, Joes albums in the 90's and 2000's had THE BEST nashville session players on them and his records were filled to the brim with white hot pickin. Joe along with Alan Jackson and Brooks and Dunn records, taught me how to play that style. I wore out countless albums just trying to learn what Brent (Mason) would play on his solos. This episode isn't meant to be a step by step on how to play a certain lick or solo, but more of an insight to the techniques I stole from Joes records and how I use those same concepts to this day. Things that i learned back then are the foundation for some of my songs like Junktown, smoke wagon and Shredneck just to name a few. Please go listen to Joe Diffies music, sorry if i got choked up in this episode then i was recalling some of my memories with Diffie, his music was very important to me. Joe was a funny dude off stage and always the coolest guy in the room. For more content visit andywoodmusic.com and check my patreon. RIP Joe Diffie, you were a country music icon.
