Catching Kingfish at Sandbridge Little Island Fishing Pier in Virginia Beach | Spanish Mackerel

We visit Little Island Fishing Pier at Sandbridge in Virginia Beach, VA. We get there after 6pm and find out that parking is free. The kiosk for the pier is closed, which means free parking and free fishing on this visit. The pier closed at 9pm. It was quite a short visit. There is a crowd of fishermen fishing for Spanish Mackerels at the end of the pier. We caught some Kingfish aka Whiting or Roundhead. A baby sting ray was caught and released. We try to fish for Spanish Mackerel and lost 2 Got_cha plugs in the process. No success for us but a friendly fisherman offered us a Spanish Mackerel which made our day. We saw kite surfers and a Coast Guard helicopter. Once we got home we filleted the Spanish Mackerel to eat another day.
