#w204throttleresponsereset #mercedesthrottlereset #mercedesTCMreset whats up guys back again with another w204 video 🎥🎥 if your new to the channel im mikey this is mikeyz vlogz and on this channel 📺📺 i do a whole bunch of videos on mercedes benz w204 how to videos tips and tricks fixes common fault and issues and step by step tutorials helping other w204 owners to DIY themselves at home and help keep the money in your pocket 💲 ADAPTIVE TRANSMISSION EXPLAINED https://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/200... http://www.mercedesmedic.com/reset-me... so back when i did the video showing all the different features and tips and tricks of the mercedes w204 c300 i added in there how to reset your TCM throttle control module aka TPS throttle position sensor reset because newer cars now have a drive by wire system where when you accelerate, its ends a signal to the ecu letting it know how much the throttle has been depressed and therefore sends a signal to the throttle body letting it know how much to open according to the percentage you depressed your accelerator pedal now alot of ppl have been saying its a ecu reset, but that is not true this procedure does not reset your ecu to be exact it resets and restores your your TCM to factory settings so that your car can relearn your driving style and this is a bonus for many different reasons some are re-learning your driving style as you may not drive as hard as the previous owner if you have a light foot, then this would be a bonus leading to saving fuel as having a heavy foot would tell the ecu to change gears at a higher rev meaning your car would drink more fuel hence you would save fuel by doing this reset throttle response time will change and will adapt to your driving style so in short there are definitely benefits to doing this reset especially if you are buying a used car 1. get in your car 2. close all windows 3. make sure all accessories are turned off radio, headunit, heater, fan etc 4. close all doors 5. insert key 6. turn key to 2nd position (on) before you crank the engine 7. depress accelerator pedal all the way down (hold for 5- 7 secs) 8, continue to hold accelerator down then switch off car 9. leave key in ignition do not remove key( whilst still depressing gas/accelerator pedal) 10. then you can remove your foot from the accelerator pedal (gas) 11. do not do anything at all for the next 5 mins (important) 12. you should here a very quiet electrical sound confirmation like a clicking sound (so im told) 13. once 5 mins has passed, your DONE 14. start the car, let it idle for about 2 mins 15. take it for a drive, at this time its important that you drive the way you normally drive so the the car can adapt and learn your driving style this is what we call a throttle reset allowing the ecu and throttle control module or position sensor to re-learn and adapt to the way you drive some ppl might do this reset for time to time just to be sure that the car is always responding and adapting to their driving styles however in my honest opinion doing this once would suffice for a long period as it will adapt and learn your driving style...so if you are the main driver of the car... constantly doing this reset wouldn't be necessary once a week more like once every 3 - 6 months however it is your choice it wont hurt the car in any way if you found this video helpful pls give it a thumbs up👍 👍 and dont forget to like✔ share comment and subscribe hit that notifications bell 🔔🔔 so you are notified when i upload new video or content sincerely mikeyz vlogz DISCLAIMER ❗❗❗ PLEASE NOTE this is my own personal vlogs. the views and opinions expressed here represent my own and not the people, institutions or organizations that i may or may not be related with unless stated otherwise My thoughts and opinions change from time to time,as i come to learn more and develop my own understanding about the things and issues that i am vlogging about. my vlogs just provide a brief insight of knowledge , views and opinions that i possess at that point in time, which may change overtime. comments are welcome. however please keep in mind that offensive, unrelated and tasteless comments may be deleted. this also relates to off - topic comments. i am not responsible for the content in the comments, or in blogs or vlogs and other online content that i may link to or refer to, other then the comments made by myself. i will not be held responsible for any damages or issues that may occur during or that may arise after the use of this video, if you choose to do so. this video should only be used as a guideline. i am not a qualified mechanic nor a qualified electrician or a professional.
