How to get your horse on the bit softly. This video demonstrates two simple techniques to get your horse to understand that when he is off the bit he will encounter pressure on the rein and when he yields to that pressure, the rein will become soft and elastic. Getting your horse on the bit can be difficult due to bad schooling, confirmation that doesn't make it easy for him to round his neck and back such as a ewe neck and bad riding. This is why I like to start at the halt to eliminate bad riding and schooling. Take the horse back to basics so he has time to understand what is required.
