Tainan City police have cracked Taiwan's first case involving a supplier of fake LINE accounts. The suspect, a former telecommunications engineer, targeted residential buildings with lax security for 10 to 20 years. He impersonated an engineer to sneak into the server room, used a red phone (presumably a landline phone) to dial his own mobile phone number, and obtained residents' landline numbers. He then used these numbers to register LINE accounts, selling each account to a fraud ring for NT$1,500.
