Ray Miller and His Black and White Melody Boys - The Sheik (Of Araby), Columbia 1921 (USA; accoustical recording) NOTE: Ray MILLER was an important bandleader of the early Roaring Twenties. His band was at its peak before the electrical process was introduced, so the best performances (like this one) are preserved only on accoustical records. Many famous musicians played with him, e.g. Frank Trumbauer, Bix Beiderbecke or Miff Mole. Ray Miller's Black and White Melody Boys were organized in 1922. They were active in the New York Jazz scene playing extended engagements at Maxim's Cafe and touring the vaudeville curcuit as "The Incomparable Singing Jazz Orchestra". After 1923 the band's records were released as Ray Miller and his Orchestra and they cut also many electrical sides.
