United Kingdom Trade Partnerships Programme (UKTP) Fiji - Ginger project - New version

In the Fiji Islands the United Kingdom Trade Partnerships Programme identified untapped potential in the herbs and spices sector for export growth to the United Kingdom and European Union markets. In particular, Fiji's ginger products including crystallised ginger and ginger in syrup were identified as having export potential. In collaboration with the Fijian Development Bank, the Ministry of Agriculture and 2 of the country's ginger processors, UKTP assisted the sector with technical support and facilitated market access within the UK-Pacific EPA. One of the key factors in the project's success was the agro value chain finance model used.
