Takato Castle in Ina City, Nagano Prefecture In spring, the Takato Kohigan cherry blossoms, which only bloom here, bloom in abundance, attracting many tourists. The admission fee to the castle park during the Sakura Festival is 600 yen for adults and 300 yen for children. Paid parking is 1,000 yen. The Japan 100 Famous Castles stamp is permanently installed 24 hours a day in front of the History Museum, and during the Sakura Festival, you can also get a stamp at Takatokaku, just inside the north gate. The castle stamp is also sold at the History Museum and Takato Nostalgia Museum. (300 yen for one ticket, 500 yen for two tickets) Pets (dogs) are allowed in the castle park. A related historic site is Tamonzan Kuboji Temple, located on the shore of Lake Suwa in Okaya City. This temple gate was relocated from Takato Castle's back gate. The nearby facility, Eshima Enclosed House, the site of the Eshima Ikushima Incident, is a 7-minute walk from the south gate. A souvenir is Takato Manju. As a restaurant, we recommend Irinoya, which serves Takato Soba. The dipping sauce, which is a combination of karatsuyu, squeezed radish juice, and roasted miso, is unique to this area. In Sakaki Town, Nagano Prefecture, there is Oshibori Udon, which is eaten with squeezed radish juice. Also, Misawaya in Ouchijuku, Fukushima Prefecture, serves Takato Soba, which is eaten with green onions instead of chopsticks. We also recommend the cherry blossoms of Ina Park, a nearby cherry blossom spot.
