Khanqah-e-Arifia – A Beautiful Blend of Spirituality and Knowledge | Maulana Akram Nadwi

On the auspicious occasion of the 126th Urs-e-Arifi, a spiritual and intellectual gathering was held at Khanqah-e-Arifia, Saiyed Sarawan, where Maulana Akram Nadwi, President of the Nadwah Old Boys Association, shared his heartfelt reflections. He remarked that although he has visited many academic and spiritual institutions across the country, the spiritual elevation, scholarly depth, and intellectual breadth of Khanqah-e-Arifia and Jamia Arifia are truly unique. He praised the sincere leadership, intellectual foresight, and reformative spirit of Arif Billah Daiye Islam Sheikh Abu Saeed (Damat Barakatuhum), who has harmoniously integrated classical Islamic sciences with contemporary needs—an extraordinary service to religion in the modern era. Maulana Akram also lauded the Khanqah’s efforts in promoting mutual love and tolerance among scholars of different schools of thought, calling it a significant reformative achievement of our time, and commended its humanitarian contributions at the international level. He especially appreciated the scholarly contributions of Lisan-us-Sufiya Maulana Ziyaur Rahman Alimi, paying tribute to his spontaneous spiritual and intellectual commentary on the Qur’anic verses recited during the opening session. According to him, this Khanqah is a luminous source of sacred knowledge, producing a lasting spiritual and intellectual legacy for the Muslim Ummah. Maulana Akram further expressed that the spiritual atmosphere of the Khanqah has brought about a personal transformation in him, and he announced his intention to remain affiliated with its mission and actively work to spread its message. He described the scholars of the Khanqah as not only possessing profound knowledge but also embodying humility and sincerity—qualities that are essential for the success of any religious and academic institution.
