I wanted to make a video to explain the cost of living in Tulum Mexico and to show that Tulum really isn't as cheap as people think. While parts of Mexico can be very affordable to visit, and potentially rent is cheaper than New York and San Fran, overall I feel Tulum is not a cheap place to live and is not ideal for budget backpackers. The said, you can travel to Tulum on a budget if you stay in Tulum Centro and not on Tulum beach, and eat at local restaurants and eat street food and tacos instead of the expensive restaurants in the hotel zone.
