O Lord of Heaven and Earth and Sea

A Hymn with lyrics by Bishop Christopher Wordsworth (1863) and melody by Father G. Beaumont (1957). The title and 1st verse seem to have been based on Psalm 146 especially verse 6. He wrote it as an offertory hymn to be played during that part of the church service. But more than this, the words of the hymn serve as a regular reminder to us of what has done, and keeps doing for us, despite all our issues in our earthly lives. God's biggest "gift" to mankind (and womankind) was His arranging and allowing His Son Jesus to be crucified on a cross in order to pay for every single one of our sins (John 3:16). But this is wasted if we do not respond to God's call to accept Jesus as our Saviour and receive your ticket to heaven, because there is no other pathway to eternal life. He is always there ready and waiting for you to call on Him. You may not hear Him at first but know that He heard you the first time. Our inability to hear His voice is due to our being way from Him for so long. Like a friend you haven't seen in decades and you don't recognise their voice when they speak to you. Persevere in seeking His reply to your questions by spending time in prayer and listening. Sometimes He will convey His reply through other people, songs, and other methods. For those wondering, Bishop Wordsworth was related to the famous poet William Wordsworth who was his uncle. #ChristianHymns, #TraditionalHymns, #WorshipMusic, #GospelSongs, #HymnLyrics, #PraiseAndWorship, #OldHymns, #ChurchMusic, #InspirationalHymns, #SermonSongs, #ChoralMusic, #FaithMusic, #SacredSongs, #DevotionalMusic, #ScriptureSongs
