The Snake Girl and the Silver-Haired Witch (1968) - Japanese Movie Review
Erik, the Asian Movie Enthusiast presents: A review of “The Snake Girl and the Silver-Haired Witch”, a Japanese horror film from 1968. This movie is notable for a few reasons. First, it was directed by Noriaki Yuasa, who is most well-known for directing a bunch of the “Gamera” movies from the Heisei Era. Second, this was based off of some manga by Kazuo Umezu, who was a very influential author who has been around since the 1960s. Recently retrieved from an orphanage, a little girl gets situated in her family’s mansion but soon discovers that a malicious, disfigured girl is secretly lurking in the shadows. This is a neat horror film that distinguishes itself from many of the other Japanese horror flicks that came out during the 1960s.
