Roman Props “MK1” — Obi-Wan OT Reveal Lightsaber

Quite possibly one of the most beautiful hilts to come out of the Original Trilogy, this is the MK1 from Roman Props, inspired by Obi-Wan Kenobi and installed with a stunning Rudy Pando crystal chamber reveal. I absolutely love everything about this design. It has that perfect Original Trilogy balance of practicality and mystery—real-world parts assembled in a way that somehow feels completely believable as an ancient Jedi weapon. Roman Props continues to be, in my opinion, one of the gold standards for accurate OT replicas, and this hilt is a perfect example of why. This build features Rudy Pando’s beautifully engineered reveal section, accessed through a smooth twist-lock mechanism that adds just the right amount of theatrical flair without losing the grounded, utilitarian feel of the prop. The original Pando chamber was upgraded further with the excellent crystal chamber by Shtok Custom Worx, which remains one of my favorite chamber designs. The detailing and layered mechanical aesthetic on it are simply phenomenal. Internally, the install uses a chassis system specifically designed for this hilt by Shtok. This was my first time working with it, and honestly, the experience was seamless. The switch section in particular is brilliantly executed, using pogo pin contacts to interface with the chassis internals in a clean and elegant way. Working on this one genuinely made me want to build another Obi-Wan saber for my own collection. Which is usually a dangerous thought. Chassis: https://shtokcustomworx.com/collectio...
