Helmy Eltoukhy is a scientist and biotech entrepreneur with contributions to next-generation DNA sequencing and non-invasive liquid biopsy technologies. Eltoukhy is the co-founder and Chairman and co-CEO of Guardant Health (NASDAQ:GH). Under his leadership, Guardant Health launched the first comprehensive liquid biopsy for advanced stage cancer patients and the first blood-only liquid biopsy for recurrence monitoring for cancer survivors. The company also completed a 20,000-patient clinical study to validate a blood test for the early detection of colorectal cancer. Previously, he co-founded Avantome to commercialize semiconductor-based sequencing, which was later acquired by Illumina. He was named to Time Magazine's inaugural 50 Most Influential People in Healthcare, Fortune's 40 under 40, and in the 2021 list of the Top 50 Healthcare CEOs. He received his PhD, MS and BS degrees from Stanford University.
