Falkirk Wheel and some of the Forth & Clyde canal 24-04-2026 with my dog Olly This is a Robert A Hunter Video I use my large class 3 mobility scooters (A Kymco Maxer) with my dog Olly to do the walk. I parked in a disabled parking area and had to register my car at the reception in the main building next to the café. I went around the area to see if there was anything of interest apart from the café and waiting around for the next canal boat to cycle through the wheel (which took some time to do). I went up the canal from the wheel which goes through a tunnel and along to the East along the Forth & Clyde canal but after a short distance the canal was empty for maintenance. There was some canal boats in the wheels basin and along the Forth & Clyde canal next to the wheels basin. I was planning on trying to go to the Kelpies from The Falkirk Wheel along the Forth & Clyde canal path instead of going by car but due to work being done on the canal and the canal path being diverted away from the work area around the canal I lost the path and signs. I went further than this point but not by much. There was supposed to be signs for an alternative route but I could not find them after a little while, so I just turned around and went back to the Falkirk Wheel then went to the Kelpies by car.
