The modular design is terrible. So are the buttons and belt holster. Pelican Shield - 3.8/5 My favorite part of the Pelican Shield is the aesthetics of the case. The carbon fibre back and metallic screws add a level of sophistication to the Pelican Shield that makes it different. BUT it doesn’t handle well. Tech 21 EVO Max - 3.8/5 The Tech 21 EVO Max is a decent but not as tough. The edges are quite low on the case and the holster provides less protection than other products. The most unique feature of the Tech 21 EVO Max is the camera lens cover. If you need a case with that feature, get the EVO Max. Pelican Voyager - 3.9/5 The Pelican Voyager scores higher than the Pelican Shield THOUGH I personally prefer the Shield (it looks better). The Voyager includes a screen protector which adds to the protection of the product but the protector doesn’t stick to the screen so there is a noticeable gap. Otterbox Defender Screenless - 3.9/5 The best thing Otterbox did with the Defender was to remove the screen protector. The latest version may not be as tough as the older versions without the screen protector but thatʼs what screen protectors are for! Otterbox Defender Pro - 4.1/5 The TPU on the Otterbox Defender Pro is thicker and the texture of the case is more pronounced. The Anti-Bacterial shield that keeps your cesspool of a smartphone relatively bug-free. Griffin Survivor Extreme - 4.2/5 Griffin Survivor Extreme is the toughest iPhone case with a screen protector and belt holster. The screen protector can take a hit or two, drop protection is 10ft and the dust protection is a notch above every other case in this list. NON-BELT HOLSTER TOUGH CASES Gear4 Platoon - 3.7/5 The only standout feature on the Gear4 Platoon are the buttons which are easy to use despite being buried in plastic. The texture of the case is nice and the bumper design of the case is slightly different. But the case is way too big, even for a tough case. Otterbox Pursuit - 4.2/5 The update Otterbox Pursuit is awesome. It was redesigned for the 2018 iPhones and it is slim, tough and doesn’t really get in the way of using your iPhone. The cherry on top? It handles well! Catalyst Impact Protection - 4.2/5 The Catalyst Impact Protection won't offer as much screen protection as the Mous Limitless due to the low screen edges but from a corner drop, the two are ~almost equals. The rotary mute switch on the Catalyst case is top notch. Moshi Talos - 4.2/5 The Moshi Talos a fancy, tough case. It fits your iPhone tightly and the texture ensures that the iPhone stays in your hand. Out of the non-belt holster cases, the Talos is going to be the case that offers the most dust protection. Mous Limitless/Clarity - 4.5/5 I like the Mous Limitless case because itʼs useful and tough. And it comes with a screen protector. Which adds to the protection of the case. HitCase Pro - 4.5/5 The HitCase Pro is tough, waterproof, mountable, can be used with external camera lenses and isnʼt that bulky. If you need a case that you can take the ultimate limits, the HitCase Pro is the one to get.
