China is not a dominant agricultural export market for Peru; exports of fresh produce, such as avocados, are smaller compared to total raw material exports. There is an opportunity for Peru to develop new agricultural export value chains tailored to Chinese consumption, such as promoting avocado use beyond juice, extending it to fresh consumption, emulating the market strategies of the United States and Europe. The United States is Peru's largest agricultural export market and an important partner for Chile. In addition to trade, the United States invests heavily in Chile, with over US$29 billion invested, is a major technology provider, and collaborates on infrastructure projects. The US market is a stable and lucrative destination for Peruvian fresh fruit exports.
