Parents of Uvalde shooting victims plead with Texas House members to change state gun law
During the first hearing a Texas House committee heard on proposed gun restrictions after the Uvalde shooting, state lawmakers heard from the families of victims. In emotional testimony, they testified in favor of increasing the legal age to purchase semiautomatic rifles from 18 to 21-years-old. The shooter in the Robb Elementary shooting bought an AR-15 days after he turned 18-years-old from a federally licensed gun store, and then carried out the school shooting with no previous firearm experience. Two teachers and 19 children were killed.
