The Wall Street Journal reported that the Pentagon is now considering moving some bases to locations deemed safer from the threat of Iranian missiles and drones. One of the bases damaged was Naval Support Activity Bahrain, the headquarters of the United States Navy's Fifth Fleet, located near Iranian territory. Analysis of satellite imagery indicates that several critical facilities were reportedly affected. These include command headquarters, military barracks, logistics warehouses, and even the base's main water tank. The damage is estimated at around US$400 million, or more than Rp6.5 trillion. This figure does not include damage to military equipment and strategic communications systems. This situation has prompted the Pentagon to discuss various options to strengthen its base defenses. One option is to relocate some command centers to underground facilities. The US is also reportedly considering reducing its military presence in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, which were previously targeted by Iranian attacks. However, several analysts believe that relocating bases will not necessarily eliminate the threat. Iran's missile and drone capabilities are said to still be capable of reaching various American military installations in the region.
