Changing Africa's single story with science and technology | Regina Agyare | TEDxLabone

Regina is a lady with an incredible love for Technology. She talks about how the one-sided stories painted about Africa could be changed using science and technology as a means of social transformation. Regina AGYARE is the founder and CEO of Soronko Solutions, a social enterprise which uses basic technology to drive human potential. From using technology to help persons with disasbilities integrate better in their communities to teaching girls in deprived communities coding, Regina and her works have been recognized globally and featured on many prominent platforms such as Apprentice Africa and Microsoft in Seattle. Her story was featured in the 'Lead In' page by Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook and in Impatient Optimist by The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Regina is a fellow of the Apsen Institute New Voices, a Global Shaper of the Accra Hub of the World Economic Forum and a Change Leader with Tigo Reach for Change. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
