The First Warhammer 40K Miniature Was an Ork in Imperial Armour - The Mystery of LE1

In tribute to my friend Ben a.k.a Xogroroth666. In 1985, before Warhammer 40,000 had a rulebook, before the Space Marine had a name, Citadel Miniatures released Limited Edition Number One. It wasn't a Space Marine. It was an Orc in Imperial armour. LE1, the Imperial Space Orc, was sculpted by Bob Naismith — the same sculptor who would go on to produce LE2, the famous Space Marine. He was labelled Imperial. He was sold to collectors. He was given no lore, no story, no ending. And then the setting decided he was inconvenient, and quietly stopped talking about him. This video asks why. And in the asking, uncovers a thread that runs from the very first Citadel miniature through the Digganobz of Gorkamorka, through Commissar Yarrick's stolen Power Klaw, through the twelve-metre Krork in Trazyn the Infinite's collection, all the way to the gene-labs beneath Terra where the Primarchs were built. The Forbidden Archive does not forget. Sources, corrections, and lore disputes in the comments. The archive is always open.
