Plant-Lover's Tour - "Outrageous Flowering Plants"

Presented by Evan Villani, Research Technician, JC Raulston Arboretum on April 7, 2026. Love plants? So do we! And while our garden is always beautiful because of our amazing diversity of plants, things do tend to get a little bit outrageous around here when spring has truly sprung. Join Evan as he takes us around the garden to show off the most spectacular, the most vibrant, the most outrageously floriferous plants popping off at the arboretum at the beginning of April. With trees, shrubs and herbaceous perennials absolutely dripping in flowers, you'll experience one of the most vibrant moments of the year. Come prepared to be wowed — and to leave with a camera roll full of outrageous inspiration! Plant list: Bignonia capreolata 'Jekyll' Rosa 'Sprothrive' Erigeron pulchellus var. pulchellus 'Lynnhaven Carpet' Rhododendron austrinum 'Hotspur Yellow' Rhododendron austrinum 'Lisa's Gold' Styphnolobium affine Serissa japonica Chrysactinia mexicana Echinocereus triglochidiatus Echinocereus viridiflorus Lavandula stoechas Phlox nivalis (near white) Tetraneuris scaposa 'Travis' Iberis simplex Linum lewisii Rhododendron 'NCRX1' Lonicera sempervirens 'Leo' Chionanthus retusus Lunaria annua (variegated form) Cornus florida subsp. urbiniana The JCRA does Plant-lover's tours like this on the first Tuesday of every month.
