Upper Thames Barbel - Autumn Leaves and Depth Charges
The first few sessions of the autumn on local stretches of the River Thames have proven pretty productive and have helped me to forget about the poor tench fishing season that has now passed. Plenty of smaller barbel that bodes well for the future but also a showing from one of the big girls that I have met on two previous occasions a kilometre or so upstream of where I caught it recently, proving that these bigger fish really do move around quite a bit. Hopefully I can find more of these larger fish before the inevitable cold water and floods arrive...
