Martinez just the same with great control pitching a complete game going the complete 9 innings almost to perfection, allowing 1 run on only 2 Braves hits. Braves have the 1-0 lead through 7 innings, Smoltz is relieved in the 8th, by left hander reliever Tom Martin then right hander Roman Colon as the Mets come up with 5 runs in the 8th including back to back HRs from Carlos Beltran (2) a 2-run shot (off Martin) and Cliff Floyd (2) solo HR (off Colon) as the Mets and new skipper Willie Randolph bounce back and win with the first game of the season.
