SUKAMADE: Where Every Second is a Struggle for Survival. 🐢🌊 [Extreme Journey]

This journey takes me deep into the heart of East Java to one of its most isolated and sacred spots: Meru Betiri National Park. Starting from the hustle and bustle of Surabaya Gubeng Station, the adventure continues by train to Kalisetail Station, before finally switching to a 4x4 Jeep to penetrate the dense jungle and cross rivers to reach Sukamade Beach. Here, I witnessed an incredible struggle for survival. Releasing hundreds of baby sea turtles (tukik) into the open ocean is no small feat. Beneath those waves and in the skies above, predators are already lurking. Did you know? Statistically, only 1 in 1,000 baby turtles will survive to adulthood.
