The Pig-Mouthed Parrotfish Scientific name: Plectorhinchus gibbosus Characteristics: The body is dark gray or blackish-brown. The lips are thick and prominent, hence the name "Pig-Mouthed." Adults can reach up to 75 centimeters in length. Habitat: Found among underwater rock formations and coral reefs in both the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea. Juveniles often inhabit mangrove forests and shallow waters. They exhibit a behavior of floating motionless, mimicking leaves for camouflage.
