Lake Oberon Pt1

A fine weather window of over 5 days, rare for southwest Tasmania at this time of year, presented itself to me. I knew that I could not pass up the opportunity for a return visit to the Western Arthur range. The route follows a very muddy section of track for the first 3 hours and then one has a rather gruelling climb up onto the range. Along the top of the range one follows the track which traverses up over and down many of the jagged peaks that cover the entire range. My goal was the saddle which overlooks Lake Oberon. It is from here that one has some of the grandest views to be seen anywhere in Australia.
