Stedman Triples at Ripley

A lovely method on some not so lovely bells. When I first arrived in Derbyshire, these bells were truly awful. Some time later, we went up into the belfry and discovered that when they'd painted the frame they'd also painted the sliders so they wouldn't budge! The paint was soon scraped off and they went a bit better. Some more minor work has been done, but not much, so they're still not a good set of bells. I have fallen out with the tenor here many times, most notably when it point blank refused to go up "right" and insisted on going up "wrong" with the clapper on the wrong side of the bell. Nothing I could do would make it go up right, and in the end it took three people on the end of the rope to whack the clapper onto the correct side. Doesn't help that the colour scheme is appalling too... Apologies for the lack of uploads recently (you know you've missed me, come on, admit it!) but I have had internet and laptop issues. The latter has been fixed by a new laptop, the latter should be fixed in a couple of months. Hopefully. In the mean time, enjoy these bells, if you can!
