The Primate was concelebrated by Archbishop Sylvester of Belogorodsk, Archbishop Laurus of Irpinsk, Archbishop Mark of Borodyanka, Bishop Panteleimon of Baturyn, the clergy of the church and guests in the sacred rank. After reading the Holy Gospel, His Beatitude addressed the congregation with a sermon. During the litany, special requests were made to the Lord for peace on the Ukrainian land and deliverance from the enemy; that the Lord would have mercy on our people and preserve those who are in despair and have lost their homes; and that God bless people of good will who help those in need. In the prayer after the litany, the Primate asked God for mercy on the Ukrainian people, that the Lord would make the authorities wise, strengthen the soldiers with courage, free the captives, heal the sick, and give shelter to those who are homeless. His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry ordained Hieromonk Hierodeacon Iliodor (Polyakov), a first-year master's student at the Kyiv Theological Academy, as a hieromonk. After the Divine Liturgy, a service of glorification was performed. The Primate congratulated the congregation on the holiday. Archpriest Pavel Kirilov, the rector of the church, thanked the archpastor and on behalf of the parishioners, testified to the loyalty of the community of the Ascension Church to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
