On September 4, 1954, Santiago Flight 513 departed Aachen, West Germany, for Porto Alegre, Brazil. It was carrying 88 passengers and four crew members. Upon entering the Atlantic Ocean, the plane disappeared without a trace. A search was conducted for the plane's last known coordinates and radio contact, but nothing was found. However, 35 years later, on October 12, 1989, Santiago Flight 513 appeared in Porto Alegre. The bodies of the 88 passengers and four crew members were found dead, and even more horrifyingly, they were reduced to skeletons.
