Choledochal Cyst with Cholangitis & cholecystitis || Ultrasound || Case 272 Clinical Features: An 8-year-old boy came with Recurrent right upper abdominal pain. Fever Jaundice Ultrasound Features: A focal fusiform dilated anechoic cystic lesion with posterior acoustic enhancement, communicating with the distal part of the common bile duct & separated from the gallbladder. The common bile duct, proximal to this cystic area, is dilated. No pancreaticobiliary junction (APBJ) abnormality. (Choledochal cyst - Type Ib) Thickening & increased echogenicity of the intrahepatic bile duct walls. (Acute Cholangitis) Thickened gallbladder wall with luminal hypoechoic sludge or debris. (Reactionary Cholecystitis) Remember: In case of choledochal cyst, reporting the condition of proximal & distal ductal parts may help classify the lesion type. Thank you for watching.
