It’s not every day that a wonderkid who gets purchased for millions of dollars and scores in Serie A at 18 simply vanishes from the footballing record, but that is exactly what has happened. A promising young striker from an Italian academy that followed a path to stardom only to be forced to abandon it due to many things outside of his control. What you’re probably not expecting to get involved in this story of the lost wonderkid is the actual United Nations. It also may be surprising that I actually knew this story nearly by heart, sure I did all the reading and found first-hand sources, but this kid was such a wonderkid that I signed him in Football Manager and googled him before. He was that good.
